GratuitiesYou don't have to tip in Australia. You can, but only if you think the person deserves it, when there's a big group or if your kids have trashed the place you're eating or staying at. Local customers and taxi passengers generally do not tip, and when they do, there's no set percentage. Australian workers, whether in restaurants, taxis or hotels, are paid by their employers. They do not expect tips...but of course rarely do they turn them down. |
